Laying reclaimed pine floorboards

I've got some reclaimed straight edge pine floorboards delivered and I'm almost ready to install them. Would people advise to use floor brads, cut clasp nails to attach the floorboards to the joist. Thanks.

The traditional floor brad rectangular nail would be the choice for originality, but there's a danger of shaking the ceiling beneath.....
Just a wee tip:
Its best to acclimatise new boards for as long as you can to minimise shrinkage, and some floorboard cramps are great for squeezing them together!
