hi,

Need to replace a very old looking room stat, the current one is a Satchwell.

What would be a good replacement to get for this?

Will wiring in a new one be straight forward?Current one has 1, 2 and 3, plus an earth, will this be the same on a different brand stat?

Look forward to your help.

Cheers

If it's just the thermostat you are replacing, the Honeywell DT200 is a good one.

All depends on what 1, 2 and 3 are used for; it's not always the same for each manufacturer! Which Satchwell stat do you have - model no if possible.

TLX 2259 is the current stat, yes, just replacing the stat.

Terminal 1 = switched live to Boiler
Terminal 2 = Not used
Terminal 3 = live from Programmer CH ON
Terminal 4 = Neutral for anticipator.

Most modern thermostats are double insulated, so the earth will not be required.

Info on the DT200 is Here

Wiring will be as the first diagram, so you would wire as follows:

Old Terminal 1 = New B
Old Terminal 3 = New A
Old Terminal 4 = Not required (Make safe)
Old Earth = Not required (make safe)
