Does anyone have personal experience to compare both of these products?

Getting replacement windows seems a very tedious task. Not helped because there is no single showroom with all of them on display side by side.

Remember with Zenith to cancel all your plans for the evening you might get away with two or three hours if you are lucky! :D

My advice is to borrow a small grizzly child. One that is teething is ideal, they make the most persistent salesman give a quick quote and head for his repmobile.

Try Evolve from Synseal, 10yr guarantee on all parts, never had any issues, Rehau sliders for some reason are quite pricey

I have to admire the stamina of the Zenith guy!

He came at 2 pm and of course I gave him a cup of coffee. I immediately pointed out that that I only wanted quotes and was not making any decision on what to buy yet.

He finally left at 10 pm having only finished half of the coffee and having had nothing more to eat or drink during all those eight hours.

Price started at £64,000 and eventually reduced to about £22,000 ! Crystal and Safestyle all started and ended at about £14,400. But they both use bought in sash windows which whilst doing the job were not very professional looking!

He did not have a sash to show me but I was reasonably happy with the casement window he showed me.

Find yourself a reputable local company, not sure how many windows you require but you shouldn't be paying any more than £700+vat per window

8 hours  , well it can only mean his Mrs is a minger or he's single!

How do you start at 64k and end at 22 and still feel you can get a sale is beyond me

I do have to say that I had read about them so was expecting a long visit with all the calls to the manager etc.

But I had decided to play along with his game and to be totally relaxed and use it as my day's entertainment.

But as always, I had been totally truthful and fair and as soon as he had arrived I told him that all I wanted was a quotation and was not buying until I had properly appraised the marketplace.

The windows are made up of sash units mostly about 820 wide and 1700 high and they are all quoting about £800-£860 installed inclusive. Except Zenith of course who are at about £1300 each!
