Hi, I have a Texecom R8 wired system with one remote keypad and would like to change it for one that allows me to arm/disarm and be notified of alarm events via my smartphone. I have 8 zones and looking at the Texecom range the Premier Elite 24 panel with a Texecom Smartcom looks suitable for my requirements.
Could someone answer the following questions :-
1. To use the remote smartphone facility do I need to pay a subscription to the Texecom cloud
2. Can I use the same wiring for the new remote keypad
3. The PIR's are over 20 years old. Is it worth changing them for the Texecom Capture type. I have no pets.

1.No not currently
2. Yes but you need a premier / premier elite keypad
3. Condition of the PIR is what counts. Seen pirs a few years old in poor condition and very old pirs in good condition so hard to say for certain as can’t see the condition of yours

Not a fan of petwise detectors.
Capture do have pet and non pet modes but pet size may determine which option you should go for if you get a pet.

The good thing about capture, is swapping to a different model is a slide off in affair.

Garages and conservatories. Should use a minimum of a D20 and other rooms a minimum of Q20.

But choice is your at the end of the day.

Hi Secureiam, Many thanks for your fast reply. This information is exactly what I need.
