Hi
New to this site(new to DIY actually) im trying to replace an intermediary switch (on a 3way circuit) which has 4 wires to a 2 way dimmer switch. Problem is dimmer has L1 L2 and com -3 connections but ive 4 wires. currently i can tell u this - when i test for current the 4 connections which on the current switch are connected in a Top left (TL),Top right(TR), Bottom left(BL), bottom right (BR) config i get the following:
Light switched on - TL null TR Live, BL Live BR null
Light switched off - TL null TR Live, BL null BR Live

How can i connect these 4 wires to the 3 connections on the 2way dimmer.
Can someone help please

You can't do it.

If you want N-way dimming, where N>1, you need an intelligent master/slave dimmer. TLC sell one (and I'm sure others do, but the TLC site is nice'n'informative, and has technical info on the dimmers)
