Replacing analogue thermostat with digital (1)

Tried this with and without grey in c not working do I need to bridge anything like the analogue one was ?

No shouldn’t need to bridge anything. Do you have access to test equipment?

D'oh - of course the Grey must be a Neutral for the lamp to work.

Therefore I fear you may have (technical term) buggered something by connecting it to the new thermostat.

Put the old thermostat back to make sure the heating works properly.

Put the two wires together heating works, then turned the other downstairs stat and all seems to be working

So both brown wires together and heating works? If yes, then I’d say as per @EFLImpudence you’ve buggered the new one.

Black and Brown (old 1 and 3) to A and B. Gray is not used so insulate safety.

Not sure where replace analogue with digital comes from, both are digital i.e. on/off.

I’ve put the stat on and turned the other analogue one downstairs (2 downstairs stats) on and the rads have heated all downstairs so turned the stat off there to see if it’s turning them off fingers crossed haven’t buggered them

Brown to a and black to b and capped the grey off
