Good afternoon,

I have a cable sticking out of the wall which was previously used to power xpelair fan with a switch (smart zwave switch but it's probably irrelevant). Now when both switch and fan are gone I have grey/brown/black/ground cable I want to use to power up just a single bulb with 1-way switch. If it's anyhow important this cable is on "downstairs lights" circuit breaker.

As I understand brown is L, grey is N and black is SL and I need only L and N for my new setup. Would it be good enough to just wire brown and grey (+earth) with regular twin and earth cable and keep black one insulated in the junction box?

There will be a junction box where that old cable is connected to a regular twin and earth cable. Does it make any sense to put there a fused junction box or it's not actually needed?

Thank you in advance!
