I have a Franklin mixer tap in the kitchen. Kept hearing dreadful noise upstairs finally located the problem to the kitchen tap. It seems yet again the ceramic discs have gone!! I have already replaced both hot and cold discs (cheapest I could get them was over £40.00) also had a spare couple given by the previous owners of the house whom installed these taps. I think they are a total rip off.
Anyway moving away from my ranting I would now like to just replace them with an ordinary mixer tap, with plain washers but yawn yawn single parent want to know if they can just be replaced without too much exspence involving new piping etc., really appreciate any advice. Thank you

This is difficult to answer - you can spend whatever you like on new taps.

Whether or not the pipework has to be altered depends on the existing pipework and the new taps, but I find that about 95% of kitchen tap jobs require a pipework change of some sort (except those where the taps are being replaced with an identical brand and model).

FRANKE  ;) seen this post somewhere before :?:

jojobetty...how many times are you planning to post this question?

I seem to remember telling you that the ceramic discs carry a 5 year warranty.

That means if they become faulty within 5 years you get another set for FREE

That means no money/zilch/naff all

Here you go ive even got the phone No for you...01782 599258

And a link to the data sheet that will tell you that it has got a 5 year warranty.
