hi

just moved into a new house and the previous owner had converted the front room to a garage for his beloved harley. We re now converting it back to a living room and have the window that was previously removed.

To make it level with the other front windows it needs to be dropped 50mm from the lintel above the garage door. How do I go about creating this 50mm padding between the lintel and the top of the window frame. I have the rest of the job planned out and have got the blockwork figured out. this is the only bit i am not sure of so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have to get screw in ties to join the new blockwork to the existing wall, any ideas where i can get them from. Also does anyone have tips on applying tyrolean render?

thanks

try asking a local upvc widow company to see if they can fix a "knock on" strip to make up the 50mm.

stainless steel wall ties/anchors/connectors are readily available at diy sheds and builders merchants.

buy a bag of "cullamix", hire a tyrolean machine from a tool hire shop, follow the instructions on the cullamix bag and your away. ;)
