I bought a second hand UPVC door and want to install it to my garage.

There is a window in already and I was going to take that out and cut the rest of the bricks out to fit the door but because there is a lintel it would mean the door would be 1 brick below the DPC.

Is that a bad idea?
Should I cut out a completely new hole on the side of the Garage?

Assuming the door will open and close there is no problem with it being below DPC.
