Hi,

I am looking to replace my Honeywell BDR91 receiver with a Tado Extension Kit.

I got the installation instructions from Tado - but when I opened up the BDR91, the wiring isn't exactly as I was expecting.

There are 2 black wires to N.
There are 2 brown wires to L.

I believe this is due to the fused switch that is connected to the BDR91 - and the BDR91 being connected to the Vaillant ecoTec Pro 28 boiler.

The Tado instructions are telling me to remove the grey wire connecting L to A (remove the bridge).

The grey wire currently going to B will go to 4 on the Tado Extension Kit.

I've uploaded a pic of the current BDR91 wiring - a pic of BDR91/Tado Extension Kit labelling - and a pic of the final wiring of the Tado Extension Kit.

I'm assuming that the 2 black wires currently in N will both get connected to the Tado Extension Kit N.

I'm assuming that the 2 brown wires currently in L will both get connected to the Tado Extension Kit L.

Wire 2/C in the Tado instructions are not being used for this installation.

I just want to make sure I'm not going to mess anything up!

Thanks!

WMD

You have x2 browns in L, x2 blacks to N, a link wire and a switched. Tado instructions appear similar, a link wire between L and A

Thanks Novice. I have edited my post to correct my mistake.

Yes - I was pretty sure the diagram showing the link/bridge was my current setup for the BDR91.

I'll be removing the link wire completely - as it is not used in the Tado Extension Kit.

The way I understand it - the B wire is the switched. This wire will connect to 4 in the Tado Extension Kit.

I will connect both black wires in N, to the N in the Tado Extension Kit.

I will connect both brown wires in L, to the L in the Tado Extension Kit.
