replacing hot water cylinder

does anyone know what angle the 15mm hot supply feed to the top of the cylinder should be to prevent airlocks,i am replacing a 2 foot cylinder to a newer version ,i know i can tee into the 22mm vent pipe but at what height above the cylinder do i tee off its a direct system no boiler or heating it only does hot water many thanks
