Hi
I have a replacement fan/light to install - on the wall are two switches that control the old fan and light

On the new fan there is a live(brown)/neutral(blue)/earth(green/yellow) connection -
coming from the roof from the old fan is 3 core and earth - red, blue, yellow and bare (yellow/green cover)

So do I connect the Red to the Brown terminal
Blue to the Blue
Yellow/Green to the Yellow/Green Earth

then what to do with the spare Yellow?
Into a terminal choc block on it's own? is it now needed?

Means just one of the switches on the wall then turns on the fan/light (which is on a remote conttrol)?

thanks

Better in the Electrical forum .
Are you sure about existing, two core and earth are normally red and black , or newer brown and blue , not red and blue ?
What terminals do the new fan have?

OP,
Presumably you have isolated?
Take your post to the sparkies forum with pics of the present connections and the terminals on the new fan/light.
Have you peeped at the wires behind the switch plates?
