Hi there,

I'm a new DIYer and replaced a lightswitch today. I just connected everything as it was in the old one and it works OK, but when I checked the internet it seems it is wired the wrong way round. Is this a problem? Should I swap it over?

Its a one-way circuit but using a two-way switch. I have connected the Black to the COMMON at the top and the brown to the ONE-WAY at the bottom (and the earth to the back-box terminal). Nothing is connected to the TWO-WAY at the bottom. What would happen if it is the wrong way round - would the light still be working??

Thanks.

If the 2 x terminal points were wired the otherway round, the light would function but the switch would work in reverse to what it does.
