Hi.

So I'm going to be laying a laminate floor and will be fitting new skirting.

The socket back boxes on the masonry wall extend into the skirting.

Do I just decide where I will be locating the new socket position then raggle the wall to accommodate the electrical wire. If so is it best to use some conduit for the wire then smooth it over with some filler.

There is enough play in the cable to raise the socket location so it is no longer near the skirting.

Thanks

Just relocate the box location and chomp out the wall so the cable is below the plaster level. It is not necessary to have the cable in conduit/capping.

The cables must run vertically up the wall and into the socket box.

There is no requirement to use conduit, but in answer to your question, yes it is best to do so.

Got the sockets all replaced. Didn't have to do much chomping as most of the player just fell off.

I fitted the new boxes and ran the cable straight up within some conduit.

Thanks for all the advice.
