Hi,

I am trying to find a new toilet, my old one is probably 70's and the soil pipe comes out of the floor vertically. It is 220m from the wall (to centre).

How do I fit a new one? It looks like it will be too far away from the wall?

I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem.

Can't you get swan necked pan connectors designed for just that issue. It bends back on itself before dropping vertically down. It won't go as far back as a pan with a downward spigot but it will be better than a normal 90 then you just have to board the wall out a bit to meet the cistern for support. Usually just paint it white and you can't notice it if you cut wood to same shape as cistern.

Twyfords make an S-trap (BO) WC in the "Refresh" range which I think will fit, and is close-coupled. You would probably have to order it and pay full price. It is a very reputable brand.

BO is "bottom outlet" which for a WC does not mean what you might think.
HO is "horizontal outlet"

There are some other S-trap pans on the market, they are mostly low-level which does not look so good.

You have to check the wall-to-soilpipe-centre very carefully. Refresh is 225mm

My house has a 250mm gap but I am saving up for a Refresh as I can space it off the wall an inch.
