I want to replace a Drayton LP722 with a better one (model 25476 with 3 time periods per day rather than 2). I have been told it's just a matter of undoing the two screws at the bottom, lifting the old one off and putting the new one on, and tightening the screws. Can someone clear up the confusion I have about the 'backplate'? Is the backplate the hinged black plastic square (second pic, showing replacement) or something else, already fitted behind the old timer? When I pull the old one off does the equivalent backplate come off with it? I'm not touching the screwdriver until I know....

Yes, backplate is fixed to the wall, it won't come of with the programmer, just pull out and lift up to remove.
