I'm sprucing up my bathroom, and I'm going to be changing my bath taps and waste.

At the moment there are two individual pillar taps around 6 inches apart. Edit : Measured and it's 7 inches / 180mm

Ideally I'd like a mixer instead. I notice most mixers for baths have two inputs and I'm wondering if they're a standard width apart... and if I can check if my pillar taps are that width... meaning I could replace them with a mixer tap.

I don't know if taps are fitted to a standard position in every bath or if they're just fitted anywhere and holes punched to match.

180mm centres are standard and most mixers will fit. Just double check when buying in case the new ones are non standard.

Amazing news :)

I can get modern taps in my bathroom... I fancy those waterfall ones.

Thanks!

Check that the cold water bath supply in your house is not mains pressure, or that the taps can work on different supply pressures.

The cold water supply is mains pressure, and the taps I went for said suitable for all pressure systems, but a minimum of 1 bar.

I'd already ordered by the time I saw you mentioning mains pressure.

"This tap has a minimum water pressure requirement of 1bar. This makes it suitable for all pressurised water systems so if you have a water system such as a combination boiler, Megaflow etc then this tap is perfect for you. If however you have a low pressure system such as a gravity fed (tank & cylinder) system then this tap is not recommended for you unless you are intending to fit a pump"

Will it be ok?

Do you have a combi, or a hot water cylinder somewhere?

You'll be fine then, both hot and cold mains pressure.
