Replacing potentially asbestos soffits

I'm planning on having the roof ridges replaced with a dry ridge system and have dry verge caps installed.
I would like to also have the soffits, facia and guttering replaced during this time too.
The fascia is timber by the looks of it however the soffits maybe asbestos.
The home survey prior to buying the house said the soffits may be asbestos.
The house was built in 1983.

Would it be easier to just overclad the soffits and fascia instead of removing the existing soffits and replacing?
Will overcladding cause the old soffit and fascia to 'sweat'?
What are the positives and negatives to overcladding ?

Overclad. Avoid breaking or drilling the asbestos while doing so.

The often found talk of sweating is nonsense.

I'd pay to have it removed.
Scaffolding will make it easier to remove and replace.
I don't like the Idea of asbestos survey reporting when selling home
Get it tested either way

Id always opt to have it removed if it is asbestos (have you had it tested?) - However it does tend to be expensive due to the complexity of removing at height.

First thing to do is to find out if it is asbestos, and if so - which type.

If its non-licensable then will be a lot less costly than if its the higher risk licensable stuff.
