Have been getting a lot grief from the wife regarding heat output from the hall radiator.
As can be seen from the first 2 slides the single radiator is tiny for the hall stairs and la
landing so I propose to replace the 500 * 450 with a 500 * 600 double. This should
give an extra 150% of heat output.

I am hoping that installing a same width radiator my installation problems will be
minimalised. My neighbour has carried out a similar exercise and the plumber he
hired simply pulled the trv and lockshield forewards to fit to the new radiator.
Seems to have worked fine but the trv and lockshield are angled foreward
protruding in front of the radiator. I have included slides of the valves. If this method is
not recommended can anybody assist with alternative installation

You can go for a 700 or 750 high radiator that will provide even
more heat.

You can bend the pipes out and make the radiator slightly lower you can then have the radiator valves reversed so the the valve ends are horizonal rather than vertical a much neater solution in my opinion.

thanks for speedy response. I think lockshield pipework should bend ok
but I am a little concerned with pipework on TRV. If you look closely on slides
there is a 15mm to 10mm reducer and a coupler before the bend so very little
pipework to bend. Will that be a problem?

If it is using 10mm pipework.
I would unsolder the lot and solder a new piece of 10mm pipe that can be
bent. Using proper 10mm valves.
