Hi All,

I have been looking around reclaimation yards to find some old cast iron victorian rads to replace the ones in the house.

Most of the ones I have so far seen seem to be rusty lumps of junk !

What sort of things should I be looking for in these rads, ie fittings, seals, threads etc.

Also what work will I have to do on them to bring them back to life and make them compatible with my system. What sort of cost would be involved, ie reducers, cleaning etc

I have just had a new condenser boiler and new cyl fitted and I don`t want to do them any damage just cos the missus doesn`t like our standard rads !!

Cheers in advance

personally I would keep away from reclaimed junk

Plumb Centre do some nice school rads for a reasonable price
