I have a Ferroli Modena 80E combi boiler and an old Honeywell Brown Thermostat (inside of casing says 4200-3878).
The Thermostat is fine, but has paint on it and I would like to upgrade it to a digital thermostat when I decorate.
I have found a wiring diagram inside the Thermostat casing and copied this into a graphic...
I have switched off the mains power and looked at the wiring into the thermostat and see a red wire going into terminal 1, a blue wire going into terminal 2 and a yellow wire going into terminal 3. An earth wire is also present, but unconnected to the thermostat.
My main question is, the Ferroli Modena 80E manual states the use of 24 V connection to the thermostat...
"Use a room thermostat (24 V) without voltage to the contacts. Connecting 230 V to the room thermostat terminals will irreperably damage the electronic board."
The only thing that confuses me is the diagram (see picture above) in the casing of the thermostat has "220/250V" mentioned which seems incompatible with the 24 V stated as being required in the boiler manual.
The thermostat I am looking to fit would be the Honeywell CM901...

Can anybody tell me if this would be compatible with my current wiring and if so, what wires go into which terminals on the new thermostat?
For reference, the manual for the Ferroli Modena 80E can be found here...
