replacing single oven

Ihave taken a single oven from the unit to replace with a new one.The original oven has a thick wire into a junction box ,the other end into the wall socket further along the wall
.How do I know if the new one has the correct amp to go into the junction box,as some of the ovens have 13 amp plugs fitted .and some need wiring
Electrics are a bit beyond me
