My close connected Toilet has a very poor flush and in my humble opinion it looks to be the diaphragm thingy that has gone. can i replace my existing cistern unit with one of these...

This is my existing one,

And I have read that these are the best ones to fit, so they can be serviced/repaired without the need to remove the water tank...

You may need to replace the fixing plate between the cistern and pan as well as the donut washer. Can be impossible to get it water tight without doing so sometimes.

Unless your cistern and pan are connected by a length of pipe, you WILL need to remove the cistern to do this job. If its a length of pipe, you can just remove the ring underneath and the whole lot comes apart.

If its close coupled (joined together) this is a much more involved job and I would recommend getting a plumber to do this. It is very hard to get the donut and bracket right first time. Took me a few attempts and a lot of silicone   to get mine right. And if you put too much tension on the bolts you could snap the pan (probably).

I use the ddley turbo syphons that you have they are decent, first time fitting you need to removed cistern completely to fit, dont forget to use a new doughnut! Its only if it needs replacing after initial fit then it can be done from above without the need to split the bog, give it a crack its not difficult to do
