I have an old bath with the hot and cold taps mounted on the vertical face of the bath. I want to install a shower and was hoping that I could simply replace the taps with a new set that had a shower attachment. Anyone know where I could get a set? My only other option is to plumb in a shower which is a lot more work :(

They are called globe taps and i don't think you will get what you want ?

Hi Michl

I have the same dilemma if I upgrade to a shower mixer

Did you have any luck?

I thought there might be a right angle connection available to convert the taps to a vertical connection so standard taps could be fitted + it would comply with the water regs re: height above the overflow without fitting a backflow prevention device.

All thoughts welcome

the mixer taps you linked to would solve the situation for me, have you seen any like this that are cheaper?

Thanks Charnwood

I found those the other day, they may work with my first option but what would it look like?

They price match as well, Blass em :D

If there was a vertical conversion that worked with the cheaper deck mixer we may be in business, it shouldn't be impossible to find LOL

Still looking

On reflection the cranked wall extension was £222 where I looked

The extension is recommended with the

Marflow St James Wall Mounted Bath Shower Mixer London Handle @£293
•Ceramic disc valve
•Suitable for all plumbing systems
•Low or high pressure (Min 0.2 Bar recommended)
•Supplied complete with shower head & hose
•Chrome finish

Same as SJC321.610 without inlet unions

For use with cranked wall extensions SJCWE

so the the cranked wall extension SJCWE @£157

Is £450 in total

Decisions!

could you drill new holes on the horizontal face of the bath to accept a standard mixer set up (and just remove the old vertically mounted globe taps)? Enough room for installation underneath?
