I am looking at having some wood cladding on my house replaced with roughcast and in the process of getting some quotes for this, but would like to understand the process a little bit before I commit to someone carrying out the work. We have already had some work bodged and I don't want to fall into the same trap again.
What would the normal process for doing this be? My understanding at the moment is that they should be removing the existing cladding and securing some kind of weatherboard to the building which will be roughcast over, does this sound about right? Are there any alarm bells to watch out for when I'm talking to traders?
