Replastering required before retiling?

I am redoing my kitchen at the moment. The old tiles have been removed. Before retiling am I going to have to replaster the wall before retiling or can I just put the tile adhesive on a bit thicker to make up for where the top skim has come off?

This is a picture showing the sort of surface that is left. Does this need skimming or can I go ahead and just continue and retile it?

looks ok seal with pva and bed to tiles where it needs it.

or you could pva first then blade out all the hollows with the tile adhesive first allow to dry then retile
