Hi there
Looking to do some repointing of our exterior walls
Weather forecast is due to be freezing next week
Should we keep going with this / just rake out old mortar and point later / do nothing ?
Many thanks

Do nothing until all risk of frost has gone.

If you are new to this: prepare all tools and mats and access eqpt.
Start high and work down, only raking out and pointing small areas at time. Stop well before any rain.

Thanks for the advice

The builder wants to 'play it by ear' grind it all out saturday then repoint monday or later if its too cold

Is this ok?

Grinder grind?
Not if he's been on the lash Friday night and has a touch of the 'Hattie Jacques'

So should I tell the builder to wait with the raking out of the mortar until its warmer and we can do pointing too or is it ok to rake out and leave for a week til its warmer to point?
