Repointing my entire gable end wall as existing mortar seems to be knackered in most places. Not the most interesting task but getting into a flow tackling a couple of meters at a time when I get time.
Grinding out to 20mm with a thick diamond mortar rake disc and attached to a Henry hoover for extraction. Then grinding out the bits the disc missed using a mortar rake bit on the grinder.
Using my not-very-good DIY scaffold tower I bought a few years ago, ratchet strapped to the house wall resulting in it being rock solid.
Probably covered about a quarter of the total area so far, and filled about 5 Henry bags. Virtually no dust on cars/windows etc tho.
Material cost pretty low, used 3 bags of building sand and some of a bag of cement so far. On my first raking disc still, altho it’ll only be good for a bit more as it’s getting smaller. Plus the Henry bags.
You get the gist from the pics, might post another one later but it’ll be just as boring as these!
