Hi all
just a quick repointing question, looking for thoughts/opinions.
got a 2 storey detached house, garage has been getting some leaks and it seems the culprit is the pointing on the gable end wall. i had a look with the guy who replaced my garage roof as i thought that was the problem, and there's a bunch of holes in the pointing that we could see on an initial look. so the query is, would it be better to get the whole wall redone or just get the holes plugged? It's not like the wall is Swiss cheese, but there might be any number of holes on a further closer inspection. The wall is pretty much fine until we get strong winds in a particular direction. It's been suggested i could plug the worst of the holes and coat the wall with Thomson's spray, so that might be a better option than grinding out everything?
TIA
