Hi I've got a partywall which isnt too bad for sound. As im decorating and installing a new ceiling i wondered what would be more effective.
Resilliance bars and 1x soundblock or 2x soundblock

I don't want more than 1 with resilliance bars as i think i could lose too much.

Any views please?

Never used sound bloc board but have redone my living room ceiling with resilient bars and single layer of standard 12.5mm board, and rock wool between joists. The results with the bars are noticeably better than just using rock wool so I’d say they’re worth it.

For the wall I thought the air gap was the bit that you needed? ie don't pack it out with rockwall. I will be putting that in the floor

I think mine was 100mm Rockwool, about 100mm gap (rest of joist depth plus resilient bar depth)
Yeah you’re right for walls you’ve got more options as you can have complete separation with another stud wall. I think rockwool would still need to feature between the studs though
