Hi, I'm currently renovating loft and have started sanding the old beams with an orbital sander (50 grit) house was built in 1935.

Does anyone know the best way to get these restored and what to treat them with?

I was going to go for liberon quick drying tung oil

And just out of interest does anyone know the wood type?

Cheers

On many restoration jobs they shot blast timbers using recycled glass "dust" or other "softer" shot blasting materials such cherry pits. This is a very messy process

What on earth have you done with that expanding foam?
