Hi

I have replaced tmy lounge ceiling light. It is controlled by a dimmer switch so I have replaced that to.
When I removed the ceiling light there is 1 cable with 2 red wires..and 2 cables with each a RED, BLACK & EARTH WIRE.

Now one cable is for the dining room light and of course one is for the lounge.

I forgot which wires go where into to connectors.
I had the lounge light working and funnily enough when I turned it on the dining room light came on.
Does anybody know where each wire goes into the plastic connectors?
I know earth goes with earth etc.

I need help urgently

Forget the twin red for now.

The two red black and earths, connect the blacks (neutral) to the neutral of the fitting you have. Connect the earths to the earth of the fitting. Connect the two reds to a seperate piece of terminal block (the fitting may have provision for this).

Now, the twin red cable, connect one of the reds to the other two. Then the remaining red, connect to the live of the fitting.
