We will soon get our house rewired and will end up with lots of "chasing out" to fill up.

Should I use "patching plaster" - which I have used before and found to dry very soft and flaky - or should I mix some real plaster?

Hi Brett

In my opinion its best to fill the chases with bonding first and then apply a finish plaster coat feathered in to the existing plaster finish each side of the chase. Hope this helps.

I would agree with Andy, remember to leave the bonding plaster a little lower so that you have room to put the finishing plaster on this way you can taper it like Andy suggest. I have used patching plaster in the past and really don't rate it
