our ridge needs repairing due to cracked mortar. Is it best I install a dry ridge system??? I have a 1960s semi

Current thinking is that mortar alone is not sufficient. Your roofer should be working to BS 5534, and so can either fit a dry ridge, or wet ridge with mechanical fixings.

Sometimes, a dry ridge is difficult to get flat on an old roof with uneven tiles. Other times the rofer cant even get a wet ridge flat
