Hi my boiler stopped working few days ago. I thought I must have run out of oil so had some delivered. However, boiler won't start. I've bled it as per instructions on this forum and reset but nothing at all happens. I have 2 switches at top of boiler but only one is lit up ( although both in same down position) could this be the problem? Any help appreciated.

You say that you think you ran out of oil.
Does it make any attempt to fire, ie fan starts for a few seconds before stopping?
Could it be that it has merely overheated?
Could it be (and I declare inexperience with these and other oil burners) that, under the screwed cap to the right of the boiler temperature knob, there is an overheat reset button?
Could it be that if you gently depressed that button all would be well again?

If it is, then it may not stay that way, next you have to find the cause of the overheat, or the problem will return.
