Hi all , I have a Grant vortex pro external boiler which stopped working , the burner motor would not start but also no Led light on , I thought it was the capacitor as it just sounded like it wasn't getting the current, I changed the capacitor and still wouldn't start ( old capacitor measured 3.5uF) I left the new one (4.5uF) on any way .

I found a Riello flow chart , I had 240 at the control box and 54volts on the white wire of the terminal to motor so i took the fan cover off the fan to see if it had seized, it had a little resistance to start but then seemed to turn freely , I put it back together and it all worked fine for a week now it has just stopped again same issue , the motor not starting and no LED ,.
Any advice appreciated , I am thinking the motor may be going bad , ?
Regards..

Its a RBD1 Vortex 15-26 , control is R.B.L 535 SE/LD ts8/1s

Remove oil pump see if shaft turns freely with your fingers.
Check if fan rotates freely any resistance normally bearing gone on pump side of motor.
Bearings are replaceable but we just fit new motor.

Thanks for the reply , I found the problem , I have a lot of sludge in my tank which has made its way to the oil pump , I have cleaned it out and got it running again , the pump was sticky to turn by hand , but I will de-sludge the tank and check the pump pressure at the weekend, .

There's water in the tank too. Get cleaned out, find where the water has got in, flush pipe through and change the pump as it will fail soon enough.
