i am about to start re-wiring my house due to an extension being build. I was an electrician a few years ago so unsure about all the reg changes.
For a ring circuit i know that it has to be within 100m sq. but is there a maximum length of cable? i have concrete floors in new extension so have to drop the cables from above for the sockets so this will create longer cable runs.

please help

All the info you require is in the wikki, but your biggest problem will be part p.

As with any circuit the limit will be by earth fault loop impedance or volt drop. What type of earthing have you i.e. TN-S, TN-CS, TT? What is the overcurrent protective device? Do you have an on site guide?
