ring main connected with connector block

Hi all,

our elec has made a fuss over a ring main connected with one of the white connectors. Is this against the regs? I think the previous owner did this because the main was too short to reach the CU.

that depends, using terminal block is not in itself a problem. Using terminal block that is too small is a problem. Using terminal block without a suitable enclosure is a problem. Using terminal block where is can't be accessed for inspection is a problem.

there is usually no need, you can put in an extra socket instead. it might be useful.

do you mean choc block or white junction box (round about 3" diam)
