I think PPM preceded Judy and the lads by a couple of yrs... folk/pop - good days trad jazz, instrumental groups, 'nall... Quite a wide selection.
All things must pass... - As a 'fab' one sang...

A lovely woman who will be sadly missed by those of a certain generation.

Sadly youngsters of today couldn't appreciate the influence PPM have had on music.

You don't get vocalists like that today.
All synthesised manufactured carp.

I liked Puff the Magic Dragon all those yrs ago. :D

I don't mind admitting this song makes me cry!!

I have always interpreted the story as being about growing up and leaving childhood behind.

My father left when I was 2.

It's a song about the ostracism and non-acceptance of homosexuals in society.

there seems to be a lot of famous people popping their clogs this week

I'd like to add my condolences to the list for Mary Travers. An essential part of the trio and played a leading role in raising awareness of several social wrongs, to the attention of the American people.
R.I.P. Mary
