I have an old Henderson Merlin garage door. It operates fine but I have noticed that on one side the frame has developed a small stress crack at a weak point (where the rollers attach to the frame.
My idea is to fill this crack with epoxy resin (any recommendations for resin which is good for sheer stress?) but also re-enforce this area with some steel metal plates and rivet them to the existing frame.
Does this sound like a good idea?
