Anyone have any experience with these.. Their online quote seems quite competitive and with full installation. Not much info outside the website though.

rockfit.co.uk

Standard door with letterbox

Rockfit £985 inc vat
Doorstop £573 inc vat
Doesn't seem competitive to me
Not sure if the rockfit price includes fitting, I should hope so with that price.

Buy of doorstop and get a decent local fitter to install £100-£150
£200-£300 saving

I would give Rockdoors a miss personally. Have only fitted 1 of their doors but it came with a cracked weld.
After a year once fitted some of the rubber seals have split, I have sent dozens of emails and phoned on several occasions but have given up on getting a replacement from them. Not good for a £1000 trade cost price door.
Have fitted 50+ Door Stop door without a problem as of yet and they are much cheaper.

Where you get £985 from? More like £777
2 seperate make and specification so can not compare the two like for like.

I want 2 side panels/ windows also and cheapest quote so far is £1360
These are quoting £1297.
So hard to measure myself with the extra frames etc

£985 comes from their website, based on the Carolina door with a letterbox.
They advertise a starting price of £777 yet the cheapest price I can find starts at £855 for a basic slab in white with no other features (Doorstop is £481 inc vat for same door). Quality wise I can't speak for Rockfit, Doorstop I can and with a £300 plus saving its a no brainer!! Send me a description of the door you require and I'll send you a doorstop price

I've had a trade price for a rock door of near on a grand supply only. We use doorstop and solidor

i dont like rockdoor personally, youll get a decent composite for a lot less

Ok im coming round to the door stop idea but I just cant find a supplier and installer.
Dont want to measure myself as we have a side panel and dont get all the cill measurements etc. Would rather someone come round measure up and give me a quote but cant find anyone local who deal with door stop.

Any ideas

Thanks. The more I look into all these doors the more of a minefield it is.

Most use the same photos and pictures so they are not even their doors.
Been looking at the secure by design accreditation. Worth it?
Fusion doors offer an upgrade for £30 which includes laminated glass, spy hole and chain...seems more of a gimmick and marketing tool. I dont want a chain or spy hole so thats not for me. Fusion and others say they have this accreditation yet are not mentioned on the secure by design website.

Some independent companies say they are approved installers but the door supplying company states they dont have approved installers.

Ignoring the fact that I want a new door, for anyone its difficult to find the genuine from the not so genuine

Many companies won't be Secured By Design members yet the product they use has passed the sufficient security standards. For example I'm not a member yet my supplier doorstop is!!

Cheers for this, I agree but would of thought the company manufacturing/supplying the doors would be. No big deal. I just like to research things so I learn more and have a broader knowledge on thing. U can never learn enough with diy/trade skills

Lastly, its all in the fitting!! Anyone can fit a door/window, getting it to function the way it should and maintaining a neat finish is another story
Ask to see other composite that have been fitted in your area
Good luck
