Sorry bit long..

My 1950s ex council house has pitched Roof and I would like suggestions to tidy it up please without having it re felted.

Roof - no leaks, 80% of felt has disintegrated, probably because of age and not helped as someone has fixed polystyrene sheets to the rafters below the felt for some reason which are falling off and dust and cr@p falling in.

Loft floor. It's had a raised chipboard floor put in with insulation underneath. Probobly done in the 90s. Someone has put more insulation over the top of the boards which is now also disintegrated in places due to being used for storage/walked on.

I was thinking of ripping the insulation out on top of the boards, not sure it does much and is just a mess, as far as roof concerned i haven't a clue what to do ?
Remove polystyrene sheets and what's left of the felt ? Fix/replace the broken polystyrene and forget about the felt or what's left of it ?

I don't need the whole loft for storage.

Again, I can't afford a full refelt and reading here felt isn't essential.

Thank you.
