roof ventilation cover question

hello

strong winds about 4 weeks ago took the ventilation cover (at least i call it so- correct me if am wrong) away.. i'm thinking i better get smth in that place before rain starts coming into the attic


any ideas what is it professionally called and where would i look for replacement?

the picture on the left is how it is supposed to be
the one on the right is what i currently have above my house

It's called a dry ridge end cap or just a ridge end cap.

Ridge end cap as Mw says above but if the photo you've shown is the one you're after it is a Marley Segmental Ridge End Cap (grey) which will have the fixing holes in the correct position, http://www.roof-stores.co.uk/shop/item.aspx?itemid=8701
