Roofing Advice

Hello,

I just wanted some Roofing advice on the pictures attached to this thread if possible.

The roof has landed ontop of my car and i personally believe that the roof wasn't secured properly, we have taken images of their roof (whats left of it) and also the roof which landed on the car and i don't think there is enough bitumen to hold a roof on in any uncalm weather.

any advice/help/opinions on this would be extremely helpful.

What makes you think that? Plenty of roofs have been blown off or damaged over the last few weeks so I think you will have a hard time proving that this one was sufficiently faulty to make it dangerous.

You would have to know exactly what the material(s) are, and how their manufacturer(s) advised for their fixing, and how it was actually fixed to the under roof?

What does stand out is that the old roof material was not removed before the final surface was fixed, and there appear to have been umpteen repairs to possibly both old, and new roofing covers.

The picture of the round dots is the underside, and the felt is 3g. This was used as a partial bond layer to allow the roof to gas and move. You are correct, it does not have enough bitumen in its installation.

It should have been frame bonded. 300mm around all perimeters, penetrations and plenty of bitumen through the holes.
