I had my roof finished the other day and noticed around the sides of the dormer where it interfaces with the ridge these holes. I am concerned as i would have assumed this material looks stretched before it was bonded leaving these holes, before i pay can i confirm this is normal or should be corrected it looks like a rubbery material not sure what it is. Thanks. Also the leadwork down the sides what's stopping water blowing in the sides? I guess membrane underneath is then only protection?

Non profiled, i.e. flat tiles should be soakered. Marley do a plastic version designed for moderns. We sometimes make our own out of lead and seat them beneath each abutment tile.
That top gap is an invitation to wildlife and insects.

hi Noseall thanks so much for your input here yes it's coming back to me now re the soakers. Ive just looked on Marley's website and see what you mean, i knew something wasn't right.

I have raised this with them along with your point about the holes thankyou for assuring me i to felt thats asking for invaders.

That's in reference to PLAIN tiles. But the theory applies.
