I stressing over what to use on a recently self built garage 6mx6m....currently roofless save the frame work....got a very shallow pitch and I was originally go to just felt it with some membrane and decent quality felt but only having done small sheds etc I'm a bit wary of going that route....always seems strange to apply something to make a building water tight then bang nails through the material you want to keep the water out!....or maybe I've been doing it wrong.
Did thing of using Onduline or similar but have been told that can buckle and leak and again you have to make holes in it....any advice would be much appreciated

Purely a thought Casey but have you considered polyester covered box metal roof profile sheeting.....lightweight, tough and not particularly affected by pitch......your roof size is pretty large for felt to behave itself.
I've used it second hand (came from a supermarket roof, as it happens).....this was slightly thicker and providing that you prepare for condensation on the underside, a complete success.
Just a point to ponder! Good luck with your project.
John :)
