Hi
We have a Baxi Solo 2 80 Pf, a landis & staefa rwb9 programmer. The problem we are getting now is that the cylinder stat is overriding everything. If the cylinder stat is on everyhting is on, the room stat won't operate, you can gear it click but it doesn't do anything. Also the light is on all the time.
The wiring in the stat is coonected as
1 live
2 nothing
3 switched live
4 neutral
all from boiler.

can anyone help,
cheers
Ian

Are you getting Central Heating ?

The gear your moving is it a valve what type do you have 3 pipes or 2 and the make of the valve.

But if you are getting hot water no Central Heating its possibly the motorized valve that you appear to be moving is either gone or the room stat is broken. best way is to check if power is going to where it should do.

Without more detail on the valve and if the central heating is working is hard to say.

Hi Netdragon

Yes we are getting central heating, just that the room stat doesn't control anything, even when the temp is reached, brand new just been fitted. Think it may be wired up wrong, the wires in stat are as, the other end is
1 boiler live
2 nothing
3 boiler switched live
4 boiler nuetral

valves etc working fine

Cheers

Hi
thanks
cylinder stat is brand new too, know it means nothing but you can hear that operating too.
cheers

Is it a 3 or 2 port valve? Wither it is all wired up wrong or it could be fault with programmer or valve if no CH when cylinder stat satisfied.

If you got the wiring guide for your stat great whip it out and if you are happy to and have a multi meter handly whack it on the neutral and common and see if you got 240v if so good, now check for calling, if you cant find the wiring guide maybe pass us on the name and make or even a picture of it to help track it down and i can tell you what connections to test.

But hat you want when CH on 240v on common to N and 240 Calling to N

when CH off on stat, 240v on common to N and 0 on calling to N

check at the iring centre is the next thing and see if they wired up the calling wire from the stat to the motorized valve if its honeywell CH on is white wire.

You can also check this at the wiring centre with CH off on stat you should expect White to Neutral to have 0 Volts.

If you got no volts on calling wire at stat when off and 240v at wiring centre its gone wrong somewhere and its a matter of tracing it out.
it could be the cylinder stat satisified being ired up to send power down the white, or when the cylinder stat is calling for heat it sends power up the orange and the valve opens which is not wrong but if the valve opens it needs a new one or have you changed it?.

the only problem we had was the fact the ch wouldn't work without the water being on, then a room stat was fitted and now the room stat doesn't switch off the ch when it has reached required temp, it seems the hw controls it.
bit baffled :)

Hi
No wiring diagram, its a
Baxi Solo 2 80 Pf,
a landis & staefa rwb9 programmer
and a tower rs room stat

cheers

http://www.knh.org.uk/knh/publications/pdf/centralheating/rwb9daily.pdf for your clock i dont have a manual to hand for your stat.

But if you remove the stats cover you can check the cover it should have a mini guide on it.

If not then you have wire somewhere in the wrong place and needs correcting.

Without being there cant input much more but whip the cover off the stat see if it says what is what and see if you are getting power where u should and hen you shouldn't and take it from there.

Hi Again
Been away, the problem is ongoing lol
This is the system we have, //www.diynot.com/network/crazyk69/albums/
one box of wires in the cupboard as seen, the other near the boiler. The boiler has two cables coming out of it.
The other in the boiler seems to be wired as
1 Boiler (pump)L - Cylinder Stat
2 Boiler S/L - Cylinder Stat (Sleeved red) + Frost Stat
3 Boiler N - Both Pumps + Frost Stat
4 Boiler L - Frost Stat, Cyl Stat

Upstairs
1 = CPC
2= Blk to HW pump, yellow to L Boiler Pump
3 = Blue to Cyl Stat (sleeved), then other back to 1 above
4 = Blue CH Pump, N Boiler, Blue HW Pump
5 = Blk to Cyl Stat, other to 4 above
6 = nothing
7 = Blk to CH Pump, Blk to Boiler N (sleeved red)

Can anyone help, only wanted to put a room stat on lol, Head is full of soft cuddly toys all broken lol
