now if you turn all the hw/heating off on programmer.
then turn the power back on.
the lever should have resistance as you say.

then select hw only and cyl stat up so boiler is firing.

then feel the pipes coming out of the mot valve, the one to cylinder should be hot. the one to rads should be cold.

just checked and yes, still resistance

turned stat up to fire bolier and the pipe to boiler is red hot, the pipe to heating is hot but not as hot, could this be as heating has been on this evening and hasnt had time to cool down ?

maybe i should try this is the morning when everything is cold

if you have just got the hw side running you should still feel resistance on the lever.

the only time that the lever won't have resistance is when your calling for heating.
