Hi in what room would you say it is best to place the room thermostat
i was thinking either the downstairs hall or the living room the hall is 1.8m x1.6m there would be a radiator on one wall and the room stat on the opposite wall 1.8m away,is this to close, the living room will have 2 radiators the room stat would about 3m away from the closest one, would you have lockshields on both rads in the living room or only the closest to the stat. thanks

Living room.

If you put it in your (small) hall that close to the rad, you will have problems.

Also, make sure that where you site the stat isn't affected by strong sunlight from a window. Even on a cold but sunny day, the sun shining on the stat will cause it to switch off before it should.

Unless manufacturers instructions say otherwise, mount it approx 1.5 mtrs from the floor. Its best not to have thermostatic rad valves on any rads in the same room as the stat.
